Cold Weather Fishing 1.1.19

As the temperature and the water temps get colder, fish migrate in schools to deeper water. To catch fish, you have to change your technique and how deep to go. Colder temps cause the fish to go into hibernation. This causes the fish not to eat as much or as often. To catch these cold water fish, you need to fish steep drop-offs, and channels. You can catch fish at 15′ to 30′ deep using Texas Rigg worms and baby brush hogs (watermelon candy) or 1/2 oz football gigs with a hula grub (green pumpkin and watermelon candy). You can also use drop shot with an 8″ leader and a green pumpkin trick worm. Fish these baits very slow until you get that heavy feeling or a little bump. Make sure you set the hook fast. The fish will not hold on to the bait for very long when the water is cold. For more information check out my videos on Texas Riggs, Drop Shotting and Fishing with Football Jigs.
